The date for the 23rd annual St. Ambrose Old Boys Association dinner has been confirmed as Saturday 17th November and is to be held at The College.

For those of you that watched the enthralling 147th Open Championship at Carnoustie this weekend, which saw it’s first ever Italian, Francesco Molinari lift the infamous Claret Jug, you may not have been aware that an Ambrose Old Boy, also made the cut!
Terry Holt attended St. Ambrose between 1970-1977, and is the long serving caddy of Bernhard Langer, whom at 60 years of age, made the final cut in this year’s contest.
We will soon be publishing details of the next SAOBA Golf Day, and who knows, maybe we can entice Terry to join us!

St. Ambrose Old Boy, Damian Hinds MP has been appointed by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Theresa May as Secretary of Education and is now therefore the Minister for Education with the full title as: Her Majesty’s Principal Secretary of State for Education in the United Kingdom government.
Paul Maynard MP was also appointed as Lord Commissioner to Her Majesty’s Treasury (Whip) as part of the re-shuffle.
The SAOBA would like to congratulate both Damian and Paul and wish them every success in their appointments.
